Father’s Day

Standard

Father’s Day is here and as we’re settling into a new Sunday routine- one that includes Matt now that he is released from the bishopric and is feeling strange in his lack of holding a calling- I was reminded of this quote by President Ezra Taft Benson. “Fathers, yours is an eternal calling from which you are never released. Callings in the church, as important as they are, by their very nature are only for a period of time, and then an appropriate release takes place. But a father’s calling is eternal, and its importance transcends time. It is a calling for both time and eternity.”

Matt with his kiddos (minus Megan who is napping).  Does it feel like she’s always napping when I’m posting? That must be the window when we do things – after church and before dinner.  Alison’s new love is to dress like a ballerina!

Matt had Dlyan uncontrollably laughing! (It doesn’t take much!)

Later that afternoon I caught Matt reading Curious George to Alison.

The night before Father’s day we spent the evening with Matt’s parents.  We went to Los Hermanos and played games afterwards.  We had such a good time!  Sunday evening we drove down to Provo and celebrated Father’s Day with my family.  We ate amazing BBQ ribs, sat out on the back porch while everything cooled down and enjoyed each other’s company!

Some of the great men in my life (Dylan is off exploring and playing, but still counts!)
