Library Time

Standard

Corinne gave me a call near the beginning of Fall to invite us to story time at the library. I hadn’t been for ages and it was nice to have a chance to get out of the house, check out books, entertain the kids and play at the park! At $1 per family (for the whole 6 weeks or so) it was a steal! The theme was “Around the World.” The plus- my favorite librarian was in charge!

Alison was intimidated by all of the action at first and preferred to look at the books on her own.

Jackson LOVED all of the action!

Megan and Elle enjoyed just about everything, I think most especially watching all of the other kids.

My favorite part? When we were learning about Alaska, the librarian brought an actual baleen from a whale’s mouth (the sifting things in a whale’s mouth that helps it catch krill). I loved seeing it up close- huge!

Here’s what a bunch look like in a whale’s mouth- they look so tiny, but they’re not!

It was nice to have a reason to make weekly trips to the library!
